Mt. Kailash is recognized as the lofty mountain in the world, and the center of the world by Hinduism, Tibetan
Buddhism, Bon – native religion in Tibet and Jainism. At 6656 meters above sea level, Mt. Kailash, shaped like a pyramid, is the main peak of Gangdise Range with symmetrical sides. Historically, there used to have many Chinese and foreign monks preaching in there. Thus, it became the center of worship for four sects a long time ago, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Bon, which is also the Mount Olympus in the east, a fascinated place for tens of thousands pilgrims of china, India and Nepal.
Upon arrival at the Lhasa Gongar airport, group will be warmly welcome with traditional Tibetan white scarf by our Tibetan local tour guide and driver to Lhasa downtown. Have a rest in Lhasa to acclimatise the high altitude.In the evening If you feel to go out, then you can go to the Potala square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colour and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.
In the morning, you are going to visit Drepung monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang choeje , one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. You can visit the biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.
In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 – 5 in the afternoon. In addition, you can tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house; inside the monastery, you can see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.
Today’s tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Then after lunch, pilgrims ahead to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century, in order to promote the Buddhist religion. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve, perhaps the only most venerated object in Tibetan Buddhism. Around the temple is Barkhor street where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, in the meantime, you can buy souvenirs.
the way, the group will pass over the Kampala pass (4990 m), and pilgrims will have a glimpse of Yamdrok tso
(4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow mountain and in the distance, you have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar Glacier (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa. We ahead westward along the lake and drive towards Gyantse. Gyantse was historically Tibet’s third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. After that, You will continue drive to Shigatse about 2 hours, which is the second largest city in Tibet. the seat of Tibet’s second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama.
Shigatse to EBC 350 km(B)
You will start the day by visiting Tashi Lhunpu monastery where you will explore the giant 27meters bronze statue of future Buddha. And Buddhist monk chanting in the ancient prayer hall. After that, You will continue to drive to Everest base camp.
Along the way, we will pass Tsola Pass(4600M), and Gyatsola Pass(5248M). Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass(5198m). Driving on the newly paved road to Everest Base Camp(5200m). You will get spectacular views of North face Everest.
Stay overnight at Tent Guest House
It is 8 to 9 hours distance from EBC to Saga. Most of the road we drive through the farming area and nomads land, Along the way, You will be passing through Pelko tso Lake and Mount Shishabangma 8012 m the 14th highest mountain of the world. After few hours drive, you will reach to the Saga county which is a popular stop over place for travelers.
Today is the first day to glimpse Holy mount kailash and Lake Manasarovar after long drive from Lhasa. Lake
Manasarovar lies at 4590meters above sea level, a relatively high elevation for a large fresh water lake on the mostly
saline lake-studded Tibetan Plateau. The lake is surrounded by Mt. Gurla Mandata at south, Lake Rakshastal at west
and Mt. Kailash at the south part.
We have half day free time near Lake Manasarovar for Prayer and enjoying view of Lake and Mount Kailash. If the
pilgrims have interest to visit Monastery, We arrange just an hour to visit Chiu Monastery which is used to be
Meditation cave of Guru Padmasambhava in 8th century. After Lunch we drive ahead to Darchen and start to
preparation for the next three days kora.
The Traditionally pilgrims undertake 52 km trekking circuit around Mount Kailash, commencing at Darchen
(4574m) and crossing the Dolma-la pass on the second day of the three day walk. 8 kilometers after leaving
Darchen, we get to a village called Sarshung, where porters and yaks are waiting for their clients. After two hours,
we come upon a grassy plain populated by nomads. For this turn in the valley it is another two hours at least
before reaching Dirapuk(4920m). Dirapuk is retreat cave associated with great yogin Gotsangpa. Once you reached at
Guest house, we have the best and most beautiful view of mount Kailash north face.
Today, we trek 22km which takes about 7-8hrs. That day little bit harder to walk because we walk up to Dolmala pass,
it is the highest point in our trip 5,723m so it is better to set off early in the morning as the sun rays break over the
ridges above. After taking a rest at the peak of Dolma-la pass, you will descend staircase bringing you to Lhachu
valley floor, taking about one hour from the pass. From here it is still four hours trekking to the today’s final
destination with no shelters on the way. It is better to walk on the right side of the river and finally get to Zultrulpuk
(with miracle cave of milarepa).
Today, we walk back to Darchen about 12km from Zutrulpuk. Is the most easy part of the whole kora and the exit
from the valley can be reached within four hours. On the way there are many high lamas hands and foot prints on the
rocks in the trails.

Today, we will drive back to Lhasa on the friendship Highway. The whole distance is almost 270km and it takes 5
hours along the Yarlung Tsangpo River / Bhamaputra River (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) After arrive in
Lhasa you will have half day free time for shopping .
